José Solís, Founder and President of Solís Betancourt Inc., has had a life long interest in art and architecture. Growing up in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he dedicated his spare time to drawing and painting. These skills would serve him well as an architecture student at Cornell University. He gained further experience at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and at The Saladino Group, Inc.

With an international client roster, Solís Betancourt, Inc. has accepted numerous award-winning commissions and has created a signature collection of lighting in collaboration with Holly Hunt Showrooms.

Solís Betancourt’s projects have been featured in national and international shelter magazines including Architectural Digest, House & Garden, House Beautiful, Southern Accents, The New York Times Magazine and The Washington Post Magazine.


Paul Morgan Sherrill, a native of North Carolina, was greatly influenced by his grandparents who were painters and weavers. These influences lead him to study art and design throughout his childhood. He graduated with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human and Environmental Sciences and a degree in Art. In 1992, Mr. Sherrill relocated to Washington, D.C. and began working as an interior designer for Solís Betancourt, Inc. Mr. Sherrill was named partner and serves as the vice president of Solís Betancourt, Inc.
